Apparel and What to Wear
What you wear makes a big difference on your overall outdoor experience. Will you end up soaked, overheated and miserable? Or will you be dry, comfortable and happy? Different outdoor environments all have different needs.
Start your shopping by looking up the weather conditions of your camping or kayaking spots. Figure out how water resistant your clothing should be, as well as how hot or cold you think the weather will be. Try to wear layers, so you can add or remove clothing as weather demands. Remember that buying cheap outdoor gear doesn’t have to mean that you’re sacrificing on quality. There are plenty of outlets online that allow you to buy clothes inexpensively and yet of premium quality. Try to avoid buying in shops that outsource all of their manufacturing to China or similar countries. The best quality items will be found as “Made in USA.”
